I am so glad I have Fridays off now – I really don’t know how we’d manage if I worked five days. I haven’t once yet managed to actually meet with anyone or take Imogen to any groups, the days are always filled with keeping on top of the home admin or shopping, but it’s great to have them!
Imogen woke up with a sticky red eye this morning, on a work day, so I had to stay at home to take her to the doctors. I felt really bad, guilty I couldn’t be at work but then also guilty I was even thinking that as Imogen is and will always be my first priority! I think it’s reaching that work/life balance without the guilt that is the hard thing to do and whilst I thought I had started to get there, her being ill brought it back again. Luckily for her though the doctor could see her and as she was otherwise well we had a great day – I managed to keep on top of work whilst she played but also had lots of extra time with her! Trying to get eye drops into a baby though is another story!
Well, it’s been a while since I wrote anything – have just realised how long! Time is just flying by now we’re in the work / nursery / home routine and I just don’t seem to find time to do much else – although to be fair when you review what a day entails it’s not like I’m doing nothing! We woke up with Imogen as normal at 7 today even though it was a weekend and it’s amazing how long the days can be – in a nice way! I loved my previous slobby lie ins for most of the morning, but equally appreciate the extra time now so we can fit in the chores and lots of family time as well. Just need to work on a regular babysitter so we get some time to ourselves too!
