Had a minor accident on a main dual carriageway today, horrendous! It’s a really busy road and Imogen and I were on our way to a retirement party when the cars in front all stopped suddenly. We stopped and the two cars behind us did, but the last one didn’t so caused a shunt. To be fair, and thankfully, it was very minor for us, but because Imogen was in the car I was so upset and worried at the same time. We were in the outside lane and had to stand and wait for the police for about 40 mins and I was so stressed worrying about whether I should leave her in the car or whether it was safer for her to be with me. As babies do, she slept through the whole thing apart from the initial impact! Thankfully all ended well, apart from the fact that she had slept too long so wouldn’t settle at the party! It does make me think much more carefully about the responsibility of having Imogen in the car though.
